$2.2M Project To Improve I-84, Route 312 Interchange In Putnam Starts
The $2.2 million construction project to improve safety and traffic flow between Interstate 84 and Route 312 in the Town of Southeast is officially underway, the New York State Department of Transportation announced. The project will include the installation of redesigned turning lanes, better-coordinated traffic signals, pavement markings, new signage and more in an effort to improve efficiency and safety for motorists traveling between the two major roadways. Expect Delays: Lane Closures Scheduled During Route 9W Roadwork
There will be lane and ramp closures on a busy Orange County highway for several days as crews conduct construction activities in the area. The New York State Department of Transportation has issued an alert warning that from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., beginning on Monday, Oct. 29, there will be lane closures on Route 9W in Cornwall. The maintenance work is expected to result in lane closures on the highway along with lane closures with alternating traffic on the ramps to and from Quaker Avenue.
